PickSportPlus is a weekly confidence pick'em pool for NFL and college football. A commissioner sets up a league, everyone joins with a code, and every week the app hands the group a fresh slate to pick. Here is how the pieces fit together.
The weekly slate
Each week the app builds a slate from the games with the smallest point spreads, meaning the closest, most competitive matchups that week, not whichever games happen to be on television. The default slate is 20 games, 8 from the NFL and 12 from college football, and the commissioner can adjust both numbers for their league. The spread is only used to choose which games make the slate. Scoring itself is straight up: did you pick the team that actually won.
Confidence ranking
You do not have to pick every game on the slate, only the number your commissioner requires (15 out of the default 20 game slate). For each game you pick, you choose the winner and stake a confidence value on it. Your confidence points run from 1 up to however many picks you are required to make, and you use every value exactly once, your most confident pick getting the highest number. Drag to reorder, use the up and down buttons, or type a value directly, whichever is easiest.
Scoring
PickSportPlus's default rule is inverse scoring, and it changes how you should think about your picks. A correct pick earns nothing. A wrong pick counts the confidence points you staked on it against you. Lowest total wins the week. That means your highest confidence pick is also your biggest risk: stake it on a game you are sure about, because if that pick loses, you take the full penalty. A player who sits a week out without submitting picks takes the maximum possible penalty for that week, so skipping a week is never the safe play. A commissioner can switch their league to the older, standard rule instead (a correct pick earns its staked points, highest total wins) if that is what their group prefers, but inverse is the rule most leagues run under.
Either way, "correct" (how many picks you got right) is tracked the same way, and the app keeps a season long leaderboard: weekly points, season totals, games correct, and weekly wins.
Joining a pool and making picks
- Get a join code from your commissioner and create an account with it.
- Each week, open This Week, pick your winners, and rank your confidence.
- Save as you go. Picks lock at the first kickoff of the week, enforced by the clock, so there is no late entry once the games start.
- After the lock, everyone's picks become visible, so the pool can see the week was played straight.
